Our Daughter’s Minnie Themed 2nd Birthday

“OH TWODLES”

I can’t believe I am saying that I now have a two year old!  The past two years have flown by so quickly. Our daughter has learned so much and is now talking in 3 to 4 word sentences. I am so happy and eager to continue to watch her grow. She is adventurous, bright, sassy, and her bubbly personality is constantly shining through. Her belly laugh is infectious and it amazes me how much she changes on a daily basis.

Since she was little, she has had an interest in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Her favorite song was “Hot dog! Hot dog! Hot Diggity Dog!” That song always lit up her face and you could always find her dancing to it. It was thenI knew I wanted to use that as her theme for her 2nd birthday, so here we are! I got a lot of my ideas for her party through Pinterest.

I found Free Minnie Mouse Party Printables from One Charming Day. I just added in some text with font style Walt for the food labels. See below how I used the templates.

Food Ideas:

Daisy’s Delicious Fruit: I found this idea from Saveymommy and knew I had to recreate it!

  • strawberries for Mickey’s pants
  • blueberries for his legs
  • pineapples for his shoes

I used skewers to help keep the fruit from rolling around the tray.

Pluto’s Pit Beef: My husband slow cooked the pit beef to make sandwiches with all the fixings.

Hot Diggity Dogs: ‘the classic” grilled Nathan’s hot dogs on a brioche bun

Minnie’s Bow Tie Pasta Salad:

  • bow tie pasta
  • salad supreme seasoning mix
  • cherry tomatoes
  • cucumbers
  • onions

Dessert:

Let’s talk dessert! Who doesn’t love dessert and Oreos? Being pregnant all I have been craving is sweets. I decided to have Minnie mouse cupcakes, pretzel hugs with M&M’s, and caramel brownies.

For the Minnie mouse cupcakes, I went with funfetti oreo cake mix. I used cream cheese frosting and added powered sugar to it so that I could pipe and make the frosting more workable. I added in a bow cupcake pick and used mini Oreo’s to represent Minnie’s ears. They turned out adorable!

The Delightful Life had a great idea for the pretzel hugs to use mini M&M’s for Minnie’s ears and regular sized M&Ms for the face.. I used cookie and cream hugs, snyder’s pretzel snaps, and picked out brown and pink M&M’s.

Her outfit was made with my cricut. I bought an svg on etsy from POPPYSVGCO. The boots were a gift from someone for her birthday Her exact words when she opened them were, “my boots!” She had to wear them the rest of her party!

  1. That’s one beautiful blog! My son’s first birthday was just blue as theme. His second one did not have a specific theme, but his third birthday was all about dinosaurs. We also got the garlands, balloons, and cupcake decorations from Amazon!
